Emergency Response & Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
Challenges
- Over 339 million people required humanitarian assistance in 2023 (UNOCHA)
- More than 43 million people were displaced by disasters in 2022 alone
- Conflict and violence displaced over 62 million people globally, many lacking basic aid access
- Climate-related disasters have increased fivefold in the past 50 years (WMO, 2021)
- Rapid response in the first 72 hours is critical, yet less than 40% of urgent appeals are fully funded in time
- Children represent over 50% of those affected by humanitarian crises
- Every $1 invested in disaster preparedness saves up to $7 in future humanitarian response (UNDRR)
Our Work Includes:
- Rapid Humanitarian Assistance (shelter, hygiene kits, food, water)
- Cash Transfers for emergency-affected households
- Community-Based Disaster Preparedness
- Climate Adaptation Projects (e.g., flood defenses, water harvesting)
